The play is a must watch. A strong and different story line with some stunning acting make the play a must see. Babar Ali has lived his character to the core. He is simply amazing and deserves a superb applause. Babar Ali plays the role of an innocent man but pretends to be an abusive and violent character. Babar Ali while commenting on the serial said that after doing so many movies for so long, he has got a very good character of an angry young man. Zahra played by Farah Shah is shown as a fine art’s student and mainly the story of the serial revolves around her. Zahra is a girl basically with a romantic nature, who is waiting for her ideal – a sweet, gentle, soft spoken and kind hearted, but, Bali is the main hurdle between her and her ideal, because she is engaged to him since childhood.

This is the story of two sisters, Zara (Shehnaz Sheikh) & Sunya (Marina Khan). When fate deals them a tragic blow, taking their parents away, they migrate to Karachi from Lahore to go & live with their aunt, acted out by Badar Khalil. This trio, supported by a colorful cast, boasting names like Qazi Wajid, Behroze Sabzwari, Asif Raza Mir, Jamshed Ansari, ensure memorable viewing for everyone.
Although there is perfect balance between comedy and serious viewing, one feels that what really has made this drama immortal is the chemistry (or lack of it- portrayed in the drama) between Marina Khan & Behroze Sabzwari. One comical scene follows another as Behroze Sabzwari, an immaculately dressed (full suit with oiled hair- the complete works) personal manager of Qazi Wajid, tries to win the heart of Marina Khan. Marina plays pranks on him, gives him the nickname of “Qabacha” and the fun never stops.
There is also a serious side to this drama. With her parents now no longer with her, Zara (Shehnaz Shaikh) feels responsible for supporting herself & her sister. The problem is she takes this responsibility too seriously, causing problems both for her & others who care about her. Whatever problems she faces in the drama, there are no problems as far as her acting skills are concerned. Shehnaz Shiekh’s acting skills are tested to the limit and she comes through with flying colors.
Although, this is a very somber series (13 episodes) it does have plenty of light moments. Eventually, it is an essay on relationships which seems as relevant today as it was in 1985.
Story: A love story, the play is based on three families: Firstly we have Mr and Mrs Hayat (Shehryar Zaidi & Badar Khalil) who have two sons, Sharjeel (Adnan Siddiqui) and Sameer (Ali Kazmi). Mrs Hayat also has an unmarried sister Rafiya (Naila Ali). Mrs. Hayat is a very dominating and tyrant woman and no one in their house can do or say anything against her. Then we have a widow living in Islamabad who has two daughters Amna (Vaneeza Ahmed) and Imaney (Nadia Hussain). Amna is engaged to be married to Sharjeel and the whole family comes to Karachi for the wedding. At the mayun, they discover that Amna’s mother-in-law is not as sweet and mild tempered as they were told. However they are helpless and Amna gets married to Sharjeel. Amna is a docile girl and quietly bears all her mother in law’s taunts and puts up a happy face for her family. There is something very special about this Novel and the Drama, it makes for a decent watch mainly because of Rubina's worthy direction and some wonderful acting by the leads involved.

Summary:
The story kicks off with the return of a glamorous big screen actress of the not too distant past, Mehfil Ara, who is back home after staying abroad for 20 years, along with her daughter, Amal.The camera then reverts to two bothers and their families - Muneer Ahmed (Shakeel), his wife (Nasreen Qureshi) and their only son, Saif (Abdullah Kadwani) - the other brother, Sagheer Ahmed (Jamshed Ansari) and his daughter Muneera (Saira Khan). Saif and Muneera have strong emotions for each other and nothing would make their parents more happier than to see them settle down. However, little known to them, Mefil Ara's return has upset the delicate balance and Amal manages to steal Saif's heart at their very first meeting.At the same time another story is simultaneously unfolding - the lives of Maha (Zara Akbar) Humayun Saeed and Jehanzeb Gorchani are all entwined in an arm-twisting predicament of suffering, compromises and sacrifices. Also running parallel is the tragic story of Maha (Zara Akbar) who has to fight her own personal waterloo after giving married life a second go. Nourishing a secret that threatens to destroy her marriage, she finds that she can no more keep her past from those she has learned to love.
Complexities lead to break-up and a new relationship takes shape. As the story unfolds we see how a father's love is plagued by ego and selfish desires, how a man reacts to making choices between love and fate and what a woman does when she finds herself at the mercy of the man she loves.
